Altea few blocks off the main drag,Darwin's on 4th is my pick when I want a long,drawn-out dinner with good wine. Either way,walk it off afterward along the Venice Pier while the lights come up over the Gulf. It is the kind of evening that makes you forget pacing exists..
Sunday: Siesta Sand & the Drum Circle
Sunday,point the car toward Siesta Key. Siesta Beach famous quartz sand stays cool underfoot even when the afternoon sun is out,which makes it perfect for a long barefoot walk. Park at the beach lot,spend a few hours inthe turquoise Gulf,andthen linger right through sunset:every Sunday evening,about an hour before sunset,the beach nearthe main pavilion comes alive with the Siesta Key Drum Circle.
